Rockpools source HR professional to drive companies’ graduate recruitment strategy

BP is one of the world's largest energy companies, providing its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heat and light, retail services and petrochemicals products for everyday items. It employs over 97,000 people worldwide and operates in 100 countries, with well-established businesses in Europe, North and South America, Australasia and Africa.

BP required an executive search firm to recruit a HR professional to drive BP’s UK Graduate Resourcing Strategy, to increase both the quantity and the quality of graduate recruitment and develop a consistent pipeline of talent to help redefine BP in line with market needs as well as being aligned with the global strategic framework. They chose Rockpools because of our strong track record in executive search and selection, and they had failed to recruit twice themselves.

With the help of our research division, over 150 organisations/ individuals were identified and contacted and over 10% of these contacts were followed up with a meeting and assessed for consideration by BP.

They saw four candidates and the person appointed had a track record of working in-house as well as working within a international search firm.

Following on the success of this appointment we have been retained by the new Head of MBA and Graduate Recruitment to recruit an additional member to the team to focus wholly on graduate recruitment as her own portfolio has expanded to incude the engineering recruitment.
