Rockpools secures leadership team for Plymouth City Development Company

The 2006 Local Government White Paper announced the intention of Communities and Local Government to promote the concept of city development companies for English cities and city-regions. Since then, city development companies have been emerging nationally, firstly with Creative Sheffield, followed by Hull and then Plymouth.

Rockpools have significant experience recruiting to 95% of the UK’s urban regeneration companies. This has enabled the team to swiftly develop a keen understanding of the needs of CDCs. Our understanding of the regeneration sector, and our strong track record enabled us to win the recruitment assignment to source the Chief Executive, Chair and four private sector Board Members for the newly formed CDC.

Working closely with relevant stakeholders, such as Plymouth City Council, South West Regional Development Agency, English Partnerships and the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, we underwent a significant national and international executive search and selection exercise.

This enabled us to find a dynamic and varied selection of candidates for all the available opportunities. We then successfully appointed to all roles, and are confident Plymouth will undergo significant economic and physical growth over the coming years under the leadership of these individuals.
