Balvinder Sangha has been actively involved in numerous voluntary organisations and community activities throughout his career and was formerly a member of the West Midlands Regional Awards Committee of the Community Fund. In his earlier career he worked in business development for local government and focused on the needs of young people and disadvantaged groups. He was the Regional Manager (Midlands) for the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureau. He held various positions and had responsibility for bureau management consultancy services, social policy, funding and regional governance.
He later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Executive Resourcing (a business which was later acquired by Capita Plc and now known as Veredus), where he developed and led its regeneration business. Balvinder has been involved in ministerial appointments of key executive positions in the regeneration sector and led the recruitment of many high positions nationally, in Urban Regeneration Companies, Urban Development Corporations, Housing Market Renewal Pathfinders, New Deal for Communities as well as the Chief Executive of English Partnerships and the Chief Executive of the South East England Regional Development Agency. He has an MBA and takes a keen interest in social policy. He is also BPS qualified.
